Situated within the bones of an old concrete factory, Fitzroy Condo is a bold reimagining of industrial heritage. Originally converted from factory floors to office spaces, this structure is now poised to evolve further into a residential project. The design combines the rugged beauty of exposed concrete with refined joinery detailing and thoughtfully crafted internal landscaped zones, achieving a unique balance between minimalist and brutalist aesthetics. The result is a seamless fusion of raw materials with the elegance of new, contrasting textures. The transformation will unfold in two stages, beginning with a full-floor apartment and a ground-floor office that pay homage to the building’s industrial roots. Steel-framed windows and doors, paired with exposed concrete ceilings, evoke the raw feel of the original structure, while refined timber veneer and natural stone joinery infuse the interiors with a sophisticated elegance. Internal landscaping, featuring hanging planters and a central garden, softens the space, introducing a biophilic layer that enhances the connection to nature amid the building’s raw architectural character. Stage two envisions a collection of boutique multi-residential apartments, each occupying an entire floor. These residences feature highly crafted interiors and private, direct-lift access, ensuring a seamless and exclusive arrival experience for each resident. The proposed façade design explores an intricate mix of formed concrete, brick, and lush landscaping, crafting a tactile exterior that gives a distinctive presence to the streetscape and celebrates Fitzroy’s rich industrial history.
