Karavasil Architects is a dynamic, multidisciplinary design studio specialising in architecture and interior design. Rooted in a process-driven and research-based approach, we are deeply curious and committed to crafting immersive, experiential spaces that resonate with people, brands, and place.
Led by Georgina Karavasil Papargiris and Vicki Karavasil, the practice builds on decades of experience gained as associates at some of Melbourne’s most influential architecture firms, where they designed and delivered award-winning projects of varying scales and complexities. Their extensive portfolio spans diverse typologies, including single-residential, multi-residential, commercial, workplace design, hospitality, retail, education, and health sectors.
With a shared belief in the transformative power of design, Georgina and Vicki bring a collaborative and holistic approach to every project. Their academic contributions as educators at RMIT University, where they have led research-based design studios and mentored final-year Master of Architecture students, have further enriched their practice. This deep engagement with education and research continues to influence their thinking and design outcomes.
Each project undertaken by our studio is unique and no two projects are the same. We don't peruse a prescriptive style, we take a people-centric approach to design, working rigorously to create tailored environments that respond to context, materiality, and the human experience. With a strong emphasis on design process, we take a rigorous procedural-based way of working in order to create projects which draw on layered influences and outcomes that are distinctive and meaningful. Every project is grounded in solid principles of functionality, material exploration and environmental sustainability to ensure our buildings are enjoyed long into the future.

Our design process is rooted in storytelling and collaboration. We begin by immersing ourselves in the essence of the site—its context, history, and potential—while carefully listening to our clients' aspirations. By weaving these elements together, we craft a unique narrative that becomes the foundation for each project.
From this narrative, ideas take shape. These are not just abstract concepts but meaningful responses to the site’s character and the client’s vision. Whether it's a family home, a commercial space, or an interior fit-out, every design is a tailored solution that reflects a deep understanding of purpose and place.
Our process is highly visual and collaborative. As ideas evolve, we bring them to life through descriptive drawings, diagrams and in-house 3D modelling and rendering. We produce rendered images that are fully materialised as early as the concept design stage, incorporating textures, finishes, and lighting to give clients a clearer sense of their future space. This approach ensures the design vision is not only conceptual but tangible, enabling clients to see how ideas translate into reality while providing builders and trades with a clear understanding of the design intent during construction.
