Most homes on flood-prone sites would simply sit on a plinth, disconnected from the backyard and landscape. For our Glen Iris project, we took a different approach. Cantilevered forms lift the home above the terrain, creating a floating presence that maintains a seamless connection to the pool and outdoors. What could have been a constraint became the defining feature of the design. Stay tuned as we develop this project further with our client and collaborating partners.
